  1. If you're talking about me, you could be right, but its way too much work and requires becoming a better me . . . . uh, groan.

  2. definitely not you meg. after 90 minutes with a counsellor where I finally realized that the reason my younger sister is so venomous is because of stuff that happened 15 years ago. Not much I can do to change it, so I dealt with most of it and moved on. she hasn't.

  3. The vast majority of what we do is based on what happened to us 15 years ago. It informs our emotional reactions and our mental framework. Yes, the truly healthy learn to recognize skewed reactions and edit their behaviour accordingly rather than give in to disfunctional thinking and emotions, it is a hard thing to do unless you are forced by circumstance to admit there is issue. As long as people accept the behaviour it will continue. It is similar to a drug addict, as long as they can maintain the illusion of living they cannot get clean, they simply go about the process of dying until the reach an event that forces them to admit they are not living. We all having coping mechanisms, in fact pretty much all of our behaviour is designed to help us cope with experiences, unless the coping mechanisms are proven to not be effective, or are not accepted by others we will continue to use them. No one is acting abnormal until normal is pointed out to them. You can choose to ignore her behaviour or point out to her how her behaviour is craptastic. She will not be able to handle the two seperate and conflicting thoughts. But I ramble and rarely know what I am talking about.

  4. I tried to talk to her ... she doesn't get it. Sometimes I think she has the emotional depth of a rain puddle on flat driveway. According to her everything is fine - she just takes cheap passive aggressive potshots at me and then bats her big brown eyes and says that everything is fine and I'm overly sensitive.
Whatever. Who knew that 16 years ago when I went to university four hours away from the family fold that it would eventually turn my younger sister into a venomous she-beast?
